Here's how WebCheck works...
WebCheck is a Windows application that runs on your PC. It runs in the background loading one or more web pages of your choice as often as every second. If WebCheck cannot connect to your site or your web page returns unexpected results, WebCheck notifies and allows you to take corrective action immediately via a number of different options.
WebCheck lets you monitor and discover the following:
- Problems with your Internet connection
- Errors in ASP, ColdFusion, CGI-Bin, and all other server-side scripts
- Accidentally renamed or deleted pages
- Pages tampered with by hackers
- Web server and database performance
- Available diskspace
- Connections to remote machines from your server
- SSL certificates
- Database connections
- Other sites crucial to the operation of your own site
- Or, write your own server-side diagnostics pages to look for custom problems.
When a check fails, WebCheck can:
- Send you an email
- Ring your pager (requires an alphanumeric pager and internet gateway service by your pager company)
- Send you a fax (via an email service)
- Run an external program of your choosing to take corrective action
- Hit another webpage to take corrective action
- Play a custom sound on your PC
- Make the WebCheck icon in your system tray blink
- Popup the WebCheck window on your computer
- Log the problem to an accumulated log file
